Battery Relocation

Like he said .... do away with the grounding kit and just hook up one big ground wire . you could still use the wires that came with the grounding kit to ground the motor to the chassis if you wanted to .

i just did this awhile ago. i went ahead and fused it just becasue. be on the safer side i guess. im using 30amp for the acc and 100amp for the main power wire. and like once a week i blow the 100 am for the power. could a bad ground possibly cause more resistance? its grounded on my strut tower for now? mabey i could move up to a 150amp fuse?

lol where else to ground it at? i figured that was better than one of the random holes in the trunk. i had a freind say my battery might be on its last leg and it causing more resistance or some ****. i forgot exactly what he said. haha.

first off.....yea i know..........the thread is old. I used the search bar and instead of making up a new thread jus jumped in this one...so, yea....................anyway-i saw in a magazine that a dude with a s13 w a SR i think?? i dunno, but he didnt relocate his battery-rather i guess, he dropped it??? in the specs it said "battery drop down" and in the pic-his battery looked like it was sitting almost 8-9 inches lower but in the same spot. Anyone know anything about this or how he did it?? thanks a lot

well if you can find a small battery, you can just turn it sideways.. no need to relocate. I couldn't find a small battery in my area.. so it was quicker for me to drive around and get the parts in one day to do it

Best way to learn is to gather what you need to do it and have a go at it. It will all come together as you do it, and you can get answers to your questions as you go.
Basically, look at your power terminal at the battery post. The goal is to get the large blk/red, and three small white wire to the trunk. Your biggest challenge is to get thru the firewall, and properly ground your chassis and engine.
The blk/red wire connects to the starter
three small white wires power accessories
You can get a battery box at most auto parts store

I'd also like to add to this...you can order smaller batteries online if no local stores carry them. Most of my Time Attack racing friends have done that. One popular brand is BRAILLE racing batteries. Another well known brand is Odyssey. You can google them to find online stores.
