XAT performance...anyone know about them?

OK, I just totalled a car and am interested in a 240. I found one (not even close to being local) at XAT Performance in Tampa Fla and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them....

the car is a 98 240 and they will do a red top and manual tranny swap for me before I even pick it up.....car plus mods will be like 12grand.....and I know nothing about these cars..

i know nothing about them either...check with the BBB (Better Business Bureau(sp?)

as for the car itself, it sounds like a steal, and if the company is good, id say go for it...

Never Heard

Ask for references and previous work! if they are a reputable shop they'll have no problems with that.

I've got somthin to tell ya

Well, I don't know if it is my luck or it is XAT. I bought a car from them. I'm in TX so I didn't even get to see the car in person. Anyway, I got it shipped from FL to TX just about 2 weeks ago after the redtop swap. The car being a 1993 was alright from the outside and very bad from the inside. It had the wrong muffler style, broken radiator overflow tank, and the fans were not hooked like I wanted them to be. Mechanically, it drove well, but a lot of times when I drive, the engine would rev high but the car would not pull. I call them and they tell me it is the clutch. Also, one week after I got it, it had problem starting, something in the ignition. So, anyway, I take it to a performance shop to check it. They change the clutch and they tell me that the wiring has a shortage. Also, they told me that the transmission bolts were mismatched and the drive shaft bolts were loose. I take it for a drive after they changed the clutch, but the problem about the high revving no pulling was not fixed. On top of it the clutch loses pressure. I take it back and they tell me it is the slave cylinder. So, now they are gonna change the slave and master cylinder, and see what happens. So, I don't know if it was serious or this shop is exaggerating. But I will let you know what happens in a day or two.. Let me know if you have any questions or if you need any help.
