well i know an s13 ka dohc is designed for 89 octane. i'm not sure if premium gives you any better mpg, but i just use 87 or 89.

yea id run 87-89 for ka assuming its stock....sr needs the highest you can get, unless its like 100 or something, basically 93-95 would be best

Its hard to find 100 in NJ, unless you go to the racetrack. Then they have 100 105 and up

Im just happy prices are going down FINALLY (hopefully they keep decreasing)

what makes you say an s13 ka dohc is designed for 89. it clearly says on my gas door to use premium 91 or better and the same in the owner's manual. just curious, not trying to be nit picky. i used regular 87 once. the engine sounded like garbage. it was so choppy going thru rpms and i had no power. with 91 it is very smooth and a quick lil car.

Another thing not mentioned here is I've tried to run on 87 sometimes and I always end up getting the check engine light for knocking sensor and or O2 and this happening because some gas stations are mixxing up the fuel and not even getting 87 anymore and less than 87 you will have problemas so think about it as a ping on engine can be a lot more costly.
