Weighted my car in today at about 2465 lbs.

Exclamation Weighted my car in today at about 2465 lbs.

calculations:

2630 . . with me in the car and some other little stuff like a backpack/ laptop. etc.
- 155 . . My weight
- 10 . . of the extra stuff

EQUALS
2465

exactly half a tank of gas.

I was expecting the car to weigh 2700 Lbs.

my other coupe weighted at about 2800 a while back.
(i'll double check and correct this^) <CORRECTED>

2960- 155 = 2800 Lbs Full tank of gas.

The scale fluctuated equally between 2640 and 2620 so an average would be 2630.

what is the weight difference between s14 and s13?

And what is the true meaning of the "weight (vin Number) Sticker" on the door jam of the car?

how can I calculate the weight of half tank of Gas? (now days = gold haha)

supposedly gas weighs slightly more than 6lbs 15 degrees C. so to be safe lets say gas weight 6 1/2 lbs and the s13 holds 15 7/8 gallons. with these numbers half a tank would weigh around 51lbs. i'm rounding up so 50lbs for half a tank should be good enough for an every day application. unless your building a space ship those figures are close enough.

I found this info on Wiki about GVWR:

"A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle or trailer that is loaded, including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue weight."

AND the difference b/n GVWR and CURB weight:


"Gross weight is often confused with curb weight, which represents the weight of the vehicle with no passengers or cargo. The difference between gross weight and curb weight is the total passenger and cargo weight capacity of the vehicle. For example, a pickup truck with a curb weight of 2000 pounds might have a cargo capacity of 3000 pounds, meaning it can have a gross weight of 5000 pounds when fully loaded."

Can I conclude that the REAR LEFT corner is 50 lbs heavier?

Is this why people say the battery goes on the REAR RIGHT CORNER when relocated?

OR is there another reason people place the battery on the REAR RIGHT?

does it matter?

so where does one go to get their car weighted? just a local truck stop/weigh in station? and will they let you weigh your car there?

city dumps and businesses that deal with transporting may let you weigh your car. the dumps may change you a few dollars though. if you find a trucking company and ask nicely you might be able to drive you car on the scale for free.

I just went to see his car the other day in person. Looks really good. Pictures don't do it justice at all. Looks Great. Engine is clean as hell. Run's good too. Hella Fast for just stock boost and turbo. I have to give props to him for a Badass coupe. I used to like the fastbacks more. but the more coupes i see the more i like them. Keep up the good work man.

I weighed it at a metal recycling place "junkyard" as you said.

But, You can weigh it for free anywhere anytime as long as you ask nicely!
