Tranny noise when car starts up

Well me and my friend put the 240 together through the night. I finaly got pressure plate bolts and a starter so we decided to do it. I wanted to get a opinions on what may be the cause of this problem Im having because I think its something to do with the clutch its hitting against something. Since the ignition system was jerry rigged ( switch under the dash, and trigger switch) we had to push start the car because it wasnt working. We took it for a spin and it ran fine. We got back home and I started working on the ignition system, come to find out it was shorting out got that fixed. We get the car started with the starter and then theres this rattling noise from the tranny it seems and its alright when the car idles but if you give it gas its loud. Im pretty sure I tightened the flywheel and cover on good. It only started giving us this trouble since we've used the starter, so thats why I think it did something to the flywheel.

Im going to obviously have to take it back apart again but Im going to leave it for tommorow since we've been working on it for a good 15 hours. Any advice will be appriciated

Thanks,
Orlean

maybe the starter didnt fully retract so the teeth on the flywheel could be hitting the starter gear. i could be completely wrong but dosnt hurt to check. its easy enough to take off the starter push start it and see if it still makes the noise

We just tried it and it still does it. When the starter came on it must of done something. Im stoked on what it could of done to make it do what its doing now. I guess the only option is to take it back apart and see whats wrong, not that I really want to do it but I guess I have no choice lol.

The old pilot bearing looked fine, I didnt put the new one in because i couldnt get the old one out. I tried packing it with grease and using a bolt big enough to fit in the bearing to push it out bit it didnt work none of the bolts I had were big enough.

I would torque them but I only have a 1/2 torque wrench its way to big to fit in the space I need it for. I was just going to hit it with the impact at my 2nd setting in forward or try to hand tighten them as much as I can.

Well that plate that sits behind the flywheel and fits between the tranny and engine just didnt seem right, there was barely any clearance between the flywheel and the plate. Where can I find a cheap decent puller for it ? I think ill just end up going to ace hardware and finding a bolt that fits perfectly in the pilot bearing, the other bolt I used grease got past it and it wasnt doing anything really.

When I installed my clutch on my Tiburon, I hand tighten everything. I beat the crap out of it and it still works :-P

Yea, but it worked fine till I kicked the starter on and engine started. Not saying that it couldnt be the problem maybe that just did it. Its coming back apart tommorow, should be able to do it in 2 hours.
