Talking Time to *****.

Hell ya, I love christmas. My parents told me that they didnt get anything for my car (they lied). They got me a front lip for the 240.

I about **** when I opened it, and then I about **** when I was told how much they spent on it. Alittle over $400
Its all good.

Im gonna go have it painted somtime this week and then Ill get yall some more pics up.

If it looks funny I know why. I just wanted to see what it looked like so its only being held on by three screws.

Im also gonna go out this week and buy some Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

Hope every body had a good christmas.

The parents are cool. Ive been telling them that I wanted a front lip since I got the car.

And about the coilovers, Ill wait on that. I can just spend $200 on some springs instead of $1200. Ill get some later on but as of right now I would rather spend my money on somthing else, like body work.

yea just cut em. no difference in handleing with springs. your still gonna blow the struts and bottom out. and its free.

EDIT: oh yea i forgot to say what i got, i got some red 002s as an early present like 3 weeks ago, only $200 with tires. got a full catback to replace my custom setup, ebay ftw . 4 qt of royal purple, quick release hub with knock off nismo steering wheel(plan to change to real nismo later) candy, and some clothes.

Well first off, a spring is meant to support the weight of the car at a specific height using a calculated amount of coils at a certain thickness. By removing the coils, you take away the car's ability to support itself, and makes you bounce around like those civics with those cut *** springs with uber dori dori camber because their setup blows *****. In other words, its taking a shortcut. Lowering springs are a shortcut IMHO. So taking a shortcut to a shotcut is like... sticking ur thumb in ur ***. Oh yeah, and lowering springs dont ride half bad if you have the correct struts.

I agree, but he isn't an idiot

Each coil contributes to the force of the spring....you cut it significantly, your car will bounce all over

You are better off just leaving it stock if you can't get coilovers or lowering springs

now i agree that cutting springs dosent do anything positive for your car in terms of handling, but since we arnt talking about F1 or JGTC cars, or even porsches but rather sport compact cars over 10 years old, cutting your springs is not going to have much negative effect on your already blown struts or your already crappy ride.

the ride might not be as bad as its cracked up to be, but the fact that your shocks have a great chance of fubar-ing is a bad thing IMO

if you cant buy coilovers, buy some springs and AGX's

if you can't buy that^
go mow some lawns, then buy that

cutting your springs or getting coilovers will only get you so low. i've done both and have to agree that if you just want a daily driver that looks better then cutting the spring is for you.

if you plan doing anything like racing or drifting then get the coilovers. like i said you'll only get so low, at some point you'll need to do something like cutting the bump stop in half.

before anyone says anything about what that will do to your shocks, don't bother. if a lower daily drive is what you want cut the springs you wont damage anything.
