Damn, if only they offered the SR20 as an option for the 240s here in the states.

for the turbo KA legality question, I believe that unless a vehicle came turboed from the factory then it cannot be fitted with an aftermarket turbo

um... not sure on that one, it's prob true.

Basically, everything except stock is illegal, with the exception of plugs, wires, that crap. Yes, laws are very gay.

It all depends really...some stuff is CARB excempt like intakes and stuff...s13 240 is correct. If the car wasnt turbo from the factory, then its illegal.

If you guys want the most legit route for transplanting JDM engines into a USDM car just make shure that it is smog exempt and registered as an historical car, cops cant touch it, and it is backed by the state of Cali, or whatever state you live in.

Not really shure havent done it myself yet.
But as long as it follows under the smog exemption rules and is a restored vehicle, you can pretty much apply at DMV. I think there is an additional charge for the registration, but it isn't too much more.

hmm... what if you get it registered as a historical car in another state~ say like... North Dakota (I can't imagine there being too many restorations going on there) and then move to Cali?
