SMOKE PROBLEM! Any info will help!
I have this problem with my car. My mechanic is being a ***** about this ****. This gets me really frustrated.
My Problem: When ever I put my car in drive. After it's been running for the day. After my car gets out of FIRST gear white smoke comes out. Or if my car is in park or in neutral sitting infront of my house or friends, I rev it up to 3500RPMs and white smoke comes out. It seems as is oil builds up and gets shot out.
READ FIRST:
I've had several things replaced on my car which are:
+ Spark plugs
+ Had compression check
+ Put new PVC valve on engine.
My compression check was good. But me first hole for the spark plug was the lowest out of all. My numbers were 120 and the rest were around 130 through 140.
They also told me it wasn't my head gasket. And that is might have something to do with the valves in my engine.
IF ANYONE WANTS, I CAN RECORD A VIDEO FILE OF MY CAR DOING THIS.
Any info will help!

Oil smoke is usually bluish, not white. How does the smoke smell and "feel"? If it's sweet-smelling and doesn't have a greasy feel when you put your hand in the cloud (don't burn yourself!), it's coolant, not oil.

Its got to be the head gasket. The head gasket keeps the coolant and oil out of the cylindar. If it were just blue, it would be the piston rings or the valve stem seals. But it its while, the only place for coolant to leak in is from the head gasket. And coolant burns white. So I am about 99% sure thats what it is.

well. hate to be the bearer(sp?) of bad news.........
but. your compression is terrible if you still have the stock ka. It should be around 170 to 180. That would also explain some of the blue smoke.... Your rings are prob. worn down, letting a little oil by.
Do as stated above though, before making jurasic desicions....do a leakdown test......I have a feeling it won't be great though.

i believe the valve stem SEALS may be the cause of oil( IF THEY ARE BAD), but i'm not sure if it would affect the leakdown test.
also- i'm not sure if that will make your compression as crappy as it is.
i'd call a few mechanics and tell them how bad your compression is, tell the your car is smoking a little bit, and ask if it is possible for valve stem SEALS to cause that.

From the result of your compression test, it sounded more like a worn out piston rings. Do you lose any oil?

bad valve stem seals can cause your car to smoke.. but worn pistons would be a cause of smoke and the bad compression... I would just fine a different KA and drop in... with 5speed.. it will probably be cheaper than replacing the rings, unless you do it yourself...maybe your headgasket is blown?
my last 240 was horrible.. it blew the headgasket 3 different times, the valve stem seals were shot, along with the rings... so basically it never stopped smoking, no matter what I fixed.

And I'm not going to pay for the domino effect on my engine...
