Rear Quarter pannel rust

Quick question.

I am not very knowledgable on the subject of rust repair. I know this question is gonna be a bit vague without pictures but I don't have access to a digital camera.

I am pondering buying this 240, is a 90 with 130k. It has been very well cared for, but due to the area I live in it has still rusted a bit. There is probably rust under the spoiler as was the case with my other 240 but this one also has rust out right in front of the rear tires on both sides of the car. The spot isn't gigantic but it is significant. (there are smaller spots up under the doors but those are very minor)

I was just wondering what everyone thought about my buying this car. It is a steal at 1200 imo. But then again I hate rust and try to avoid it like it is cancer. If I can get this rust cleaned up for a decent price, the car is still a great bargain.

I also checked under the car and there is very little rust on the frame rails and also some minor rust in the engine bay (nothing is rotting, just some surface oxidation).

Well if you need more details I can try and describe it better. I would appreciate any imput on this matter. Thanks a lot.

if the rust is minimal, and you have got it checked out buy it. It sounds like a good deal.

mine got some rust under the car and i took a da sander and lightly got the rust off and put some undercoating paint on it for now. i would do the same to slow it down wanst it starts it like wild fire and sometimes u cant see it, from the inside out

Thanks for the response. Yeah I think I am gonna go for it. The car was well loved and cared for by the single owner. The guy said the only reason he is selling it is because he just upgraded his toy car (a 300zx TT). It is just to good of a deal to ignore, 240's are very hard to come by around here and usually they are owned by (generalization) some punk rice boy who thinks his abused 89 with bad mods and 180k is worth 4 grand.

Thanks again guys.
