rb20 240 s13 vs. 1g eagle talon AWD

I have come to a desicion, I know most people on this site will tell me go with the nissan, just because it is a nissan sight. Ok, I have found a nissan 240, that has an rb20det in it for 1k, but it doesnt come with a turbo or intercooler.
I have also found a eagle Talon TSI AWD, but this needs new rings, and also it is out of state. He only wants 800 for the eagle.
The s13 is in Michigan but is still a ways a way, and i have always heard never to buy someone elses motor swap. any input would be great
thanks zeth.

i would vote 240. only cause i have seen to many talons and older awd eclipses break axles under power. i'd rather buy a turbo and intercooler and add those onto an engine than do a mild rebuild on an engine,
just my opinion though...
good luck,
Tanner

I vote the same as SilviaKs. Start fresh. Also those 1g DSMs are extremely notorious for being unreliable..

thats what I thought about them 2, you can buy after market axles form drive shaft shop. It is between those 2 though because I really dont have much money at this time, If i got a 240 later I think i wouldnt ever get around to doing the swap.

If you do get the 240, make damn sure its not somebody's abandoned hack job.

if you don't have a lot of $, why buy a non running car?

buy reliable transportation. don't get in this mess.

I agree, If you don't have allot of money it would be a very unintelligent decision, because after spending your money on a non running vehicle you will not have money to repair it, hence putting you further away from your goal of having transportation. If I didn't have transportation I would keep looking for a reliable vehicle no mater what it looked like as long as it gets me from point A to point B.

I agree. I would not buy some one else's project as it will probably lead to headaches. I would also not buy a broken car if you are tight on money. I have known a few people with mitsu's and they told me due to reliability I should never get one.

I vote you get a toyota corolla, invest your money in something and wait until you have some more - then look into getting a "sporty" car

I already have a dd, the car is running, I just called him there is a turbo that comes with it. I forgot to ask about the intercooler. He said i can hear it run but when you try to push o0n the gas it stalls because of the "Mass air flow meter", or whatever nissan calls it needs replaced, 50 bucks shipped to my door on ebay I looked it up.

Sorry to kind of switch subjects but has anyone heard of a toyota corolla ae86?

Of course we have! Initial D fool, recognize! They're rare though. And they dont look as nice as a 240.
