he also noted sr20det and rb20det...meaning a choice between the 2 of those engines.

in the title he was just listing engines, he didn't say we had to choose...

ok here.....here's my question..

which engine of these three would be the cheapest way to get to 12.5 1/4 mile times? SR20DET, RB20DET, or RB25DET??

also without heavy modifications

you'd have to do some tuning to get a sr20 down to mind 12's, so I think that rules it out.

I'd go RB25, but I don't know how much more it would cost to get that clip than a RB20.

Hmmmm...o0k well ima throw out sum prices..to get a RB20 shipped is roughly 2100..and to get a RB25 shipped is roughly 4100.
RB20 can run high 14s stock and RB25s can roughly run low 14s to high 13s
Get the usual I/E and tune it a lil..that will be..800 bucks roughly..
On the RB20, Get a New turbo..t3/t4 probably..and then pump up the boost to 18-20 psi (make sure the turbo can handle it)..and u should be pretty close to mid 12s if u got the right suspension set up , that mod can cost..2gs right there (guessing)
On the RB25, up the boost to 15 and tune it out..and u should be hitting low 13's and possibly high 12s, if u got the right suspension set up maybe mid 12s. 300 bucks for boost controller
RB20 pricing: 2100+800+2000=4900
RB25 Pricing: 4100+800+300=5200

These numbers arent very accurate but they give u an idea, now this does not include install cost or extra lil parts u might need. A plus for going for the RB25 is people have played around with it and know it more then the RB20..RB25 can supposedly hold more power then the RB20..and probably more psi on stock internals. Well all this should help u out

Thx..my times might be off a lil but u get the idea.
The RB20 fits in with lil mods, its pretty much just as easy as the SR20 swap, but mounts will be heplful (unstable hybrids make RB20 mounts). But the RB25 is a lil harder, u need a custom driveshaft and mounts will be helpful. (both can be baught from mckinney motorsports)
