Sorry its actually 4 quarts + ,well at least that I got told by a Nissan Technician. Its more likely 4 quarts and a little more ,something like 1/4 of a quart or so.

FSM for a 1995 S14 says:

- 3.8 liters (4.00 US quarts) with filter change
- 3.5 liters (3.75 US quarts) without filter change

Actual amount can vary depending on conditions, and the FSM says to use the above numbers as reference, then add or subtract oil depending on what the dipstick shows.

Hey thanX for the Data, when I first got my auto 240 and I did a all tune up on it I put 3 3/4 of oil and the Nissan Krex Oil engine treatmeant which accounts to for like another 1/2 of quart my car was still reading good ,not above the line on the dipstick ,that was after I drove it for like 10-15 miles so thats why I think the technician was right .

does anybody in here use synthetic oil, I've heard it's better for higher mileage vehicles, mines at (125K), and that once you start using it you can't switch back over to regular oil again. Is it worth it?

mobil 1 is synthetic bro... and yeah, synthetic is worth it for high mileage stuff. I might go back to Mobil 1 or to Castrol Syntec... since I last posted I checked my oil (currently the GTX) and it looks darker than usual.

You know... I stopped in front of that Lucas stuff while I was walking around in Walmart today... until my girlfriend pulled me, knowing without saying anything that "it's another one of those car things" LOL

mmmm this thread lead me to do some reading. 5w30 is fine for this cold weather up in jersey. Maybe in the summer I'll run 10w30 and switch back to 5w30 in the cold.
