Been having this problem since i got my car:

The A/C blows out of the defrost vents. I don't know what could cause this. i thought that perhaps the climate control unit was bad, so i swapped one out of my friend's s13 and it behaved the same, so i know thats not the problem. asside from that, i'm 100% clueless as to what this could be. i'm rather aprehensive on taking it to an A/C shop if it's something very simple (that i was just uninformed about) so can you guys maybe give me some things to check? if it's something i can fix myself i'd rather that, over 60-70 bucks an hr labor...

[long story short] a/c blows out of the defrost vents, swapped the climate control w/ another one and it wasn't the problem, need sugestions.

 

meh, never mind, i fixed it, had to manualy ajust the actuator..

 

I have the exact same problem, but I do not know what to do!? I can't just adjust the acuator manually everytime I want heat to go to my windows instead of my face? Did you ever get the control unit working again? I really need some help. Its 20 degrees here right now.....I really need the heater and defrost.
