340hp in a drift car? with a driver that is use to around 200hp no dude i will kill myself. call me a chicken or whatever but its not my idea of a drift car. and people raised hell over putting a nissan motor in a mustang from the fast and furious movies. i am not saying i would never do it but honestly i dont like the mustang car sound unless its a muscle car. the only cars i will have a v8 in is a classic car like camaro, mustang, cuba, etc. not a 240.

well seriously people raised hell because they put a worse motor on there.. its heavy expensive and needs alot of $ to make power lol

anyway yea its your car dosnt really matter what motor is in there you can drift it with any motor

so should i just do like 95 percent of 240s and go sr. i know its my car and i am looking for opinions, which means what your telling me i am listening. but i really not up for a v8 in this car at the moment. the next one i build prolly. but thanks for the input i do appreciate it. i just need time to think and see what is best for me cause right now i have about 3000 saved up for a swap or build.

lol the SR isnt as common as you may think yea its the most common Swap but the KA is by far the most common. i got my SR cause i blew my KA at a auto-x and it was cheap and reliable and i can find parts at the dealer for it.

lol there is a reason why its common. easy swap, reliable motor, makes decent power and can find most parts for it on the US

Bro please proceed to the engine section.. and check out Common swaps.

do whats in your reach ( financially ) that is all.... coming online and asking " what should I do" is not the way to go about it. We all have different styles and taste and for the most part try to be as un-bias as possible, but a bias opinion will creep in from time to time.

My whole goal with racing is to minimize down time as i only have one car to race at the time in the US and in Japan ( hopefully i can find away around this in japan)

Not likely, Japan has huge laws governing the ownership (well . . .registration) of more than one vehicle per person . . .

But yeah, like DJ said, just do what you're going to do and be done with it. Don't ask "what should I do" because everyone is going to give you a different answer. Just do what you want, make it happen and brag about it later when it works

i understand there is always a bias opinion with every opinion related question asked. i mean money wise right now all i have is about 3000 due to unpredictable bills i have loss 2000 lol. but i just want a motor thats strong will last and have the power or the potential to get me in the power range i feel i need and give me an extra edge when i am racing. of course not over the competition but a edge for myself to be better. and i dont want it to be a clutch i rely on which is why my power goals are not that high.

what?

A Turbo KA will do everything you just said . . .what "racing" are you talking about? You don't need big power for drifting, at all . . .and they make Spec and Comp clutches for the KA.

I can't find a KA dude. I wish I could it would be so much easier. But really no one has one and finding parts that are good are that much harder. If I get out like off ebay the rebuilt ones is 1000. then by the time i boost it i will have just as much as a sr20 would be. Cause honestly all the KA's in my area have holes in the blocks, rusted to ****, being used, or they are parted out to hell and back. Trust me my first 240 was a KA-T and I loved it but KA's are getting to be extremely hard to find anymore for me.

Same here. I bought my S14 SR because it was cheaper than fixing my blown KA-T that also had a blown transmission.
