why do you say 91-94 is ideal?
are 89-90 not the same as the 91-94?

Im just trying to get a feel for the 240sx, I dont know much about the car, but i would really like to get one because I hear they have good aftermarket parts and Nissans are the bomb.

91-94 got the DOHC KA24, which produces more power and also makes it easier if you do a swap.

alright. Did i say it was better? If you could get a 89 for 12,000 or a 98 for 12,000 which would you get? IF you could get a 89 for 2,000 or a 98 for 2,000, which would you get? I'd take my 89 over any S14 anyday, but if it was a 98, i would have to be dumb to spend the same amount of money on a 89. Just common sense there guy.
