I didn't realize they would do that, I know that when I bought my car the previous owner didn't have the filter secure so junk made it into the intake and the MAF was filthy and after I cleaned it and hooked it back up the MIL was on. The code reader showed P0100 which was for the MAF. So I think the code reader is working okay. It's not that I don't read what you type l2aine. I bought it before you posted. I actually have a lot of respect for you. I have learned a lot from reading your posts, garage guides, and cardomain page. You really have one of the most comprehensive 240 guide collections that I have found. But thanks for the input. If I had seen that you had said that I probably wouldn't have bought it.

You know, it's refreshing reading that... lately there's been a lot of people hating on mods because we're clamping down on the newb factor...

...have you tried using the On-Board diagnostic LED to get codes?

No I haven't... It just seems like a hassle every time the MIL comes on to do that. Is there any benefit to doing it that way. Also l2aine check your PM's.

well for one, you don't have to spend money on a generic code reader... IMO the only code readers I trust completely is the full-blown SnapOn diagnostic computers like I used at my old job. 2nd, the ECU will give you the correct code since that's what it's designed to do. If the MIL light comes on a lot either you didn't fix what's throwing the code or something new came up - which can be a hassle yes, but remember that you have to consider the age of our cars. It's not like they're factory fresh.
