making a 240 AWD

i remember reading somewhere that there are all wheel drive sentra transmissions out there (or maybe its another model, i thought it said sentra though).

does anyone know either where these can be obtained or if this will even work. im planning on going to the mountains for school next year and i would like the front wheels to help out with some of the driving, haha.

thanks in advance

prepare to unass mountains of dough. as the S chassis was never intended for AWD, ur looking as some SERIOUS custom fab work (and if ur gonna have a shop do it for u, fuhgettaboutit). btw, forget about the sentra AWD thing. it's a transverse engine based setup (basically a FWD engine). u'd have to use a longitudinally mounted motor setup (a la AWD Skylines/Skyline GT-Rs). seriously, it's not that people haven't thought of the idea before. if it were relatively simple to do, someone would have done it by now (like w/the RB26DETT swap w/BOTH turbos in a LHD 240). not to mention, i believe there are transmission fitment issues (at least w/an R34 GT-R tranny anyway)...

Just like Sil40 bro said. It's a hella lots of money you're gonna pour in. For that kind of amount you can get a brand new WRX I guarrantee you....

But if you really want to be different, go ahead and have fun. Just don't forget to post up that baby after it's done~

Import a Skyline, chop it up to the bare running gear and drop an S14 body on top.

No seriously, I agree with everyone else... the idea seemed cool since people drop SR's into 240's all the time, and the Pulsar?Sunny GTi-R is an SR powered AWD turbo, but the engine position comment kills that idea right off the bat.

i remember some one saying that UH or another skyline motor swap shop or something and they said for 2.5k more they would make it AWD so if you got 6k for a motor swap save up another 2-3 more im sure they would do it... but thats if my memory serves me correctly
