Question ka24de's are they all the same?

well guys here it goes i have owned an s13 for about 2 years now and recently i just picked up an s14 and well i have a nice sweet looking painted valve cover off of my s13 and i wanted to put it on my s14 and well no go ... to the naked eye they look the same but when u try to match up the gasket it is different in the rear .... so it makes me wonder what else one these motors are different ??? i am just curious cause i have 2 s13 de's and well i what to rebuild one and put it in my s14 but i just want to know what i am getting into first... so and help would be awesome...

p.s.- i also just thought i would repeat "the valve cover does not swap from s13 to s14" thanks guys

yea i have a question on that too. are the k's from frontiers that different. because next summer i wanted to get a ka from the frontier in a junkyard, put the s13 or s14 intake manifold on it and start rebuilding it so i can boost it.

well simply put i already know they are different i found that out on my own , i was just curious in how they might be different internally , newer design some how... but this kinda falls under the altimas and the frontiers as well... how different are they?? they all have the same engine code? just my 2 cents

Altima KA24's will not work, they are FWD. I dunno about the frontiers, maybe they would work, but why not just get one from a 240, they sell super cheap and I see them for sale all the time. Hell, a friend and I gave away an old KA we had laying around a month or so ago...

i mentioned the frontier engines because theres a junkyard with like 5 of them and im pretty sure there is less mileage on them the 240 ka's.

well i am def not swaping in an altima ka lol nooo its just i have an s13 ka24de and i want to rebuild it and put it in my s14 and i just wanted to know the difference between the s13 ka & the s14 ka. or if it would be better to just rebuild an s14 ka and then swap it in ..... cause i am sure the s14 ka is better in design and more advanced but i don't really know???

Theres small differences but none are perfomance oriented. Also the s13 cams are actually slightly more aggressive than the s14 cams. Otherwise its minor differences and some s14's are OBDII which sucks...

ok wel no valve cover swap i know that lol but yeah i guess i am just lucky enough to have an obd1 240.... i have had the s13 motor tore apart for a while and the other day when i took the s14 valve cover off the cams hiding under it almost looked brand new like the lobes did nice lift and duration on them.... almost looked better than the s13 ones but they weren't side by side and my eyes aren't that good anymore anyways... haha thanx for the info brian...

if its a KA24DE, its a friking KA24DE, no matter if its in a frontier, altima, go-cart of cruise ship. you can swap it left and right, no diference. The only diference comes in external thigns, shuch as the intake manifold location, oritentation of exhaust, hoses, etc. The engines are the same, but the mountings are not since they are designed to be sideways, or FWD or whatever.
