KA24DE head on KA24E block and piston.

hey. I heard people said that you can just swap the head of the KA24DE to a KA24E to get around 11.5:1 compression ratio, which is much higher than both stock. but does that mean I also have to use higher octane gas? and has anyone done this project and have some spec for reference (like HP and torque)? and which ECU am I suppose to use? thx

Yeah, you're gonna have to use 91 in order to prevent detonation because of having such a high compression. As for ECU i'm not too sure.

I don't see how that would increase compression

KA24E Ratio= 8.6:1
KA24DE Ratio= 9.0:1

You guys figure it out from there. But my guess that puting on ka24de head on ka24e block would give you about the same ratio of the ka24de motor.

No, it won't. It's been done before it the E pistons give the DE a compression of 11:1.

so is more compression better? is that going to make better power?

More compression usually make more power, BUT it's also more prone to detonation.
