Importing A S14 from Japan?
I was wondering how much S14 k's are in japan, and wouldnt it be easier to import one to the states than other cars, because crashtests on 240sx's have already been done? And the emissions isnt that hard to fix i believe?

don't be fooled. we talked about this in another thread.
it's not that easy my friend.
yeah you can get it here but then you;ll want to drive it......
you're still gona have to provide crash data to make the gov happy.

i don't see shy not but there are more factors involved.
what about the intercooler that Silvias use?
if it was that easy don't you think a big mony company would of tried it????????
don't get me wrong they may be in the process of doing just that.
Motorex spent MILLIONS to get where they are now.
think about that

S14 Importation:
First of all, you can get a nice S14 in Japan from $2000-$10,000 depending on where you look.
Importing costs (shipping) is another $2000.
If you get a letter from Nissan in Japan stating that the S14 is in fact similar or the same in body make-up to the 240, you will have no problems. You won't need crash tests then either because they have the real crash tests from Nissan.
Common things they make you do is double-pane safety glass all around. Sometimes bumper and fender re-inforcements.
US Registers the car and gets a New VIN # made...another few thousand dollars.
Papers have to be filed prior to registration in the US and prior to import, as well, de-registration papers from Japan should be included.....if you are looking to do it, have fun! Best luck.
