Idle way too high. Help...

Idle way too high. Help...

i just finished dropping my sr20det in. It started right up with no problem but its idleing way too high literally around 3100 rpms and i need help on turning that down.

check the iacv hose and see if its plugged in

na if that was not hooked the car would not idle at all... make sure the screw is adjusted on the iacv

also make sure your throttle cable is adjusted properly

and last check any major vacuums

the throtle cable isnt even hooked up because i cant get it on without the throttle being open a littlle but where is the iacv located

the iacv will not allow for that much adjustment anyways. it has to be something with the tps or throttle cable as mentioned. follow everything back to your ecu.

check and make sure everythins plugged in the iacv is under the intake mani

well i found the problem this morning it seems that my throttle is stuck open cause when i force it close it idles perfectly fine but when i let it go again it goes right back to 2500 rpms now cause it did play with the iacv, how do i fix this? do i need a new trottle body?

na take it off first and spay wd40 on it.. if the car sat for along time gunk can stop it from opening and closing properly..

well i found the problem, when i took the trottle body off to clean it i noticed that the metal bar the spring is connected to was bent. so i bent it back hooked it back up and it worked perfectly. thanks for the help
