How reliable is S13?

Hello, everyone! I haven't own a S13 yet! However. I just want to know how reliable is the S13! Please post the truth. Cuz one of friends who is selling cars for many years told me that S13 is not that reliable! So any S13 owners, how was yours? THx

I've seen one running at 250k miles. Was rebuilt when it had 190k miles. Those things last. Theyre durable since they are truck engine and that fact that it's Japanese engineering. Just as long as you don't freaking abuse it it'll last you for a long *** time.

noted problems in the s13 are problems w/ compression on the #3 cylinder (it's wierd, i see that question alot here). and sometimes random electroncis going out.
As for mine? she's never left me stranded & she just rolled over90. if the one you're getting has been sitting, be prepared to swap out all the fluids & some hoses & gaskets etc... aside from that? they're pretty good cars. don' trust consumer reports, they get their #'s from ppl that don' properly maintain their cars.

its a dam good car, that she is, other than the usual probolems (ex: replacing hoses here and there, radiator and whatnot and so fourth) its a fine car, and anyone would be proud to own a S13,plus like the others said its a truck engine that can take on lots of stress, combined with japanese engineering youve got a winner, my S13 is hitting about 14 years old now, barely rolling over 165k, and its still running strong, treat the car right, and it will be faithful to you...^_^ as you can tell i love my [Cricket] (my car >_> <_<)

ThX for all your thoughts! Well, KA will last very long that is the fact! But what about other stuffs! Like differetial, electrical, and some other stuff cause a bit money to fix!
I think I will still keep looking for S13 if it just come by! But I sold my Accord, I really need a car to go to school! I was suffering for more than 2 weeks man. It's really suck! I cann't wait tooooo long. Well, I may go see a 95 Civic Si on this weekend with B16 for $1200! But my question is does 95 SI came with B16? THX!(I think only Del SOl SI had B16 right?)

Rwd is the best, but the Ka does seem to last a really long time.

well, i ran my s13 bone stock for 4 years before i even knew enough to mod it. they can be had pretty easily & cheaply, go pay the $50 to a mechanic to throughly check one out for you if you see one you like, your local newspaper will prolly have one in the listings. i know here in Tx there's bunches for sale, but i think that's cuz the rednecks prefer to tune chevy's & fords rather than imports.

i say keep looking for a 240 for a little while longer, seriusly there are lots of them, some as low as $1000, just gotta know where to look, heck even in the For Sale forums there are some decent buys, just gotta be patient. and also RWD rocks! best feeling when you take a tight turn
