How much should I pay for this 95 240sx?
How much would you guys consider paying for this car? It does not run. It needs a new engine which the guy already has. The engine that he has to swap is a ka24de out of another 95 240sx with 125k miles on it, same is on the chassis.
Here is his ad:
As much as I don't want to I'm selling my 240sx.
The car currently does not run. I have another engine that I may include, have installed, or sell seperately depeding on how the situation goes.
It is an SE model, power everything. 5spd transmission, 5 lug, has 300zx rims. Body is in decent condition, but not perfect. I also may or may not include an Injen Cold Air Intake and a Jim Wolf ECU depending on the selling price of the car.
This was going to be my project car. But the supplier I was getting my engine from basicly screwed me; and I'm going to be moving soon. So I ran out of money and time to do this project. My loss can be your gain. This would be a perfect car for an engine swap/project car, or just fix up cheap for a daily driver.

I was thinking maybe around $2000 or less for everything. KBB on a fair condition vehicle is $3,815. Since the engine will need to be dropped in and the car repainted thats how I came to my price. Tell me what price you guys think I should negotiate the price down a little bit. You guys have more knowledge and will know more of its value.
I'm thinking this would be a killer car and do an sr20det swap or ca18det since the engine already needs replaceing. I could then paint the car to my color of choice. Tell me what you guys think. Your input is appreciated

Wow. I really think I should only give him maybe $750 for his troubles. I e-mailed him and this is what he had to say.
This is really turning me off.
The car does have a salvage title, but not because of an accident. One of the previous owners did some fake theft thing with the car for insurance, that is why the car was given a bad title. The only damage to the car is pretty much what you can see in the pictures. I may be able to take some interior pics later today or sometime soon. What I can tell you though: the interior is in good condition, but, it is a little taken apart from taking out the ECU; The car does not have any stereo in it; and the seats are out of an s13 240sx (I have no idea why). I'd be willing to drop the price a bit if you did not want the other engine. Make me an offer

This guy really want to stick it with the 3500 price. I asked him if there was an accident to the front and and he said
this guy seems to be holding out on a lot of info. The salvaged title and the accident to the front. Fishy. Seems like a really good deal too but turned sour. I offered him $1000.
I think there may have been some front end accident, but nothing major. The front bumper has been replaced and there is a little damage to the hood and fenders, but the frame is fine

I agree, this guy is either holding out a lot of info or does not know what the hell he is talking about.
Bottom line the thing does not even have a engine, so you would not even be able to test drive and see how the handling feels or how bad the shocks and struts are.
He said the interior is in good condition but a lil taken apart?
I would think a good conditioned interior would be in tact. Personally i would say

ay you found that on criglists. Yeah, I wouldn't buy that either. It's salvaged and just look at the interior it's hideous. Plus if the car hasn't been into an accident why is the front and rear bumpers in different colors?
