How Do I Remove The Rad Support In A 90 240sx?

I need the rad support off this junked 240 and I spent an hour trying to figure out how to remove it. I took off the lights, radiator and fan guard, bumper, and bumper support beam. Im about to just go in there with a saws-all and cut away then weld it to my 240. Someone help me!

Oh yea man, did that a while ago

The rad support is spot welded to the engine bay / frame in a bunch of places. Your going to need to drill holes where the spot welds are (little circle indents) to pry it loose. I sourced a used rad support then welded that sucker on after prying off the mangled one. Actually we soldered it, but if you can source a welder do that instead. Up around the fenders at the tips on the rad support it is oddly welded (theres a nut welded in there, im not sure why). We ended up taking a sawz-all to those upper corners, just make sure that you leave extra metal when cutting off the good rad support you sourced so that you have material to weld back.

P.S. this is a very ghetto way of doing it, but its all we could figure out. Just make sure that when yu weld the good rad support on that it lines up both horizontally (so the hood closes) and vertically (so it latches)

If somone has a better way of doing it please tell.

Yea not hard, just time consuming, and precision is key when you weld the new one on. I had some hood closer problems..but fixed it.
