How to clean that ugly yellow s14 headlight!
You dont have to go out and buy new head lights!!! Just get some cleaner/abrasive wax (the stuff that takes scrathes off of your car). Then just apply it to a rag and go at it!!! If you do it by hand, do it 4 or 5 times then stand back and compare it to the light that is still yellow. For best results buff it with a LOW powered buffer. A fast buff might burn the lenses. The yellow stuff that collect on your lenses is oxydation and it will come off.

wet sand the glass lense? can u do that? i tried using some mothers aluminum polish. i took the head lights off and used that polish it helped a little but still they look a lil yellow.will wet sanding take the oxidation off?

you dont have to take it off to sand off the oxidation. if you want to take it off to paint the inside 250 degree oven for 10 mins works well (cover the lense with foil) and flip/check it. a heat gun works also but will take longer and is more risky

I just went out and bought some 2000 grit today and wet sanded it pretty good. After I sanded it, it was even more cloudy than before, then I applied the abrasive/rubbing compound and it came out really good. Finally I applied some high gloss wax to give it the final shine. I have to say, it came out pretty good...not completely a brand new look but %90 better than before for 5 bucks.

yeah guys well actually there is a kit out there that permatex ( probably misspelled) makes it has everything in it to take the yellow out from 1000, 1500, & 2000 grit pieces of sandpaper rubber gloves and a polish just follow directions on the back and you are good to go!!

Then you buff it out with some cleaner wax. Avaliable at any car store. It should say "cleaner wax, abrasive wax....removes oxydation". This method also work good for bad paint jobs ....check this link out http://www.**********/faq/index.html and chech out "car care 101".
