Actually its illegal ot remove them, because it would remove a Piee that is required for the car to be "road worthy" and thats how all the car in the US come. Its like, the goverment would not allow car companies to sell cars without hooks. and in case of a tow, they'll hok your car by the suspension arms which will bent and will cost $$$ that you will have to pay b/c the towing company will say it was your fault to remove them and park it in front of a hydrant... if that ever hapends.

Don't remove. Trust me. You never know when you'll need them.

two examples.

1. It was 2am and I was about 1 km away from home driving my civic and my timing belt blew. called my dad and he towed me home. Hooked up a chain to my front tow hook to his King Cab. Towed my *** home..

2. My father was doing some yard work involving drainage pipes and creating HUGE and Deep Holes in our front lawn and driveway. My sisters' friend wasnt looking and drove his front tire in the huge hole. It was about 330am and PISSING RAIN. he had a VW 1.8T, and since his front tire dropped in the hole and his car front frame was touching the ground, he was stuck. My dad had to use his King Cab and hook up to his REAR tow hook and tow his *** out.

So dude. YOU NEVER KNOW when they will come in handy.

P.S.... I love that 84 Nissan King Cab 4x4. What a beater, but what a GREAT truck.

Considering there are two rear hooks, removing the one near the exhaust wouldnt cripple the towability.

Like re037 said you don't tow on the drive wheels. Also if you were ever on a track or anywhere and you go off the track and your front end is against a barrier or wall how are they gonna pull you out by the front?

i know how to tow a car i think you guys missed the joke on that one
and have you even looked under your dam car there's a lot of tow points in the rear

and when was the last time you saw a 240 let alone any car getting towed and it was straped down by the tow hooks?
