Ok, Im gonna explain this as best as possible, I have a 95 S14 SE, and some of the lights on my dash dont work when i turn on the lights, The light in the cruise control button dosent light up, the rear window defroster light dosent light and the lights for the fan speed dont come on. And the light behind the Red & Blue Hot cold slide lever dosent light up. I swapped out the defroster switch with one that i know lights up out of my other S14 just to see if it was the bulbs that were burnt out, but after i swapped it out, it still didnt light up. So, is there a fuse anywhere that might be burnt out or what? I ckecked the fuses in the kick panel, but no luck with that. Anyone have any ideas?

 

did yo ucheck the slots that don't have fuses? maybe one is missing ... if you checked all the fuses, i'd say check power at the harness. you can use a multimeter for that, but i don't know what's supposed to be what.

other tests you can do are to use your other heating controls and plug that in to see if it works, along with the cruise control.

i know on mine i had 2 of 3 lightbulbs burnt out on the heating controls. i though i had a bad ground but no. so i put in white LEDs, shouldn't burn out now

 

Well it cant be the bulbs, All the stuff lights up in my other S14 when i turn the lights on, so i swapped that stuff into the S14 that dosent light up, and it all still dosent light up. The gaughe cluster lights up, and the dimmer **** lights up, but nothing else. The only lights on the heater control that work are the green and amber one that light up when you press the button. The slots for fuses that are empty have no terminals inside the fuse slot so i know fuses arent supposed to be there.

 

ok, so did you switch your stuff (from the car that doesn't work) into the one that works? that shouldn't really matter except it'll show you that it actually DOES work.

if you're sure it's not the fuses i would guess: bad ground, bad switch. your headlights turn on with the switch, right? does ANYTHING turn on as far as interior lights when you turn your lights on?

 

ok, i swiched everything with my other S14, and it all lights up in the other S14. Now with the S14 im haveing the problem with.... The gauge cluster lights up fine, the Image on the dimmer switch lights up fine, But the images on the cruse and defroster buttons dont light up, and nothing on the heater controls lights up except for the green lights that are on the buttons that turn on when you push them. Everything works, Its just that nothing lights up besides the gauges.
