Heatshield on Catalytic Converter

Hi Guys,

When I drive my 1990 240sx the C.C. sometimes rattles. Was wondering if I could just take off the heatshield from the catalytic converter. I tried tightening the bolts and readjusting the clamp but it just doesn't seem to help so was thinking of removing it alltogether. Removing the heatshield shouldn't cause me any problems should it?

Thanks for your input,

Burnout.

I removed all the heat shields on my car. It didn't cause any problems but it does make the floor hot.

^^Your cabin might seem a little hotter then usual, espically after driving for awhile. But other then that, there should be no problems!

Sup Guys

Took off heatshield the rattling has drastically subsided but I'm afraid the muffler is rattling also not nearly as much as the heatshield but enough for me to eventually do something about it. I know I can't take off the muffler though, haha. I will evetually end up replacing the muffler also cause it has a small hole in it. Well I got some heat resistant aluminum tape which I might use to tape up the hole if I can find it. Then I will see if I can tighten the muffler also to make it hum instead.
