Exhaust Rattle Fix
Here is some helpful info on how to make your exhaust not rattle so much or not at all.
Go to the rear of your car and push down on your exhaust tip to see how much movement it has. This will come into play later.
First things first, check all your connections on your exhaust system. Make sure there is no leaks or blown gaskets. Also make sure all the bolts are tight and secure.
Second, any heat shields that are around your exhaust should be fastened securely to the car or to the exhaust system. I removed some of my heat shield because I felt they were not doing anything other than make noise.
Third, in the rear of the car there should be a few rubber hangers. Yes, we all know that these rubber hangers suck and eventually wear out to make matters even worse. Here is my little secret that works great. Locate the rubber hangers and make sure your exhaust system is properly adjusted in this hanger. Go to your local auto parts store and get some radiator hose clamps that will fit around your rubber exhaust hanger. After your have the appropriate size radiator hose clamp and have the basic hand tools needed (8mm socket with ratchet or regular screw driver) you can then begin to install
Undo the radiator hose clamp all the way so it is straight. Put it around the middle of the rubber exhaust hanger and start to tighten it. Make sure you tighten it as much as you can so it doesn’t move at all. Do the same for the remaining rubber exhaust hangers
Once you have put all your new clamps on your hangers, push down on your exhaust tip and notice the difference. It’s amazing what little clamps can do for noise reduction. Now enjoy driving your car with out that rattling noise bothering you.
