Ok, I can speak from experience. I didn't get caught drifting in a parking lot, but I wrecked my motorcycle. It was late at night and there was no one I could have run into or hurt. I was tryin to do a wheelie and ran outta room, the locked the brake up and slid out. Stupid, I know. Anyways, the cops didn't see me do it and they still gave me a negligent driving 3rd degree ticket. $490. I asked my friend's dad who was a cop at the time about it being a parking lot and he said since it had public access, it was considered public. Basically, unless it's closed off to the public, it would be under the same laws as the street.

True they can't, but while they're sitting there watching you, I'm sure they're listing everything they can think of for that moment you DO drive back onto a public road.

Well, I got my ticket while standing in the parking lot, so I'd have to disagree with "they cant' give you a ticket in a parking lot".

public roads = !!!! @ your own risk. I'm sure cops will figure out a way where they can impound your car if they're that much of an a**hole... like street racing in Socal - you can get your car impounded or worse - confiscated (no return buddy) even if you're just "there watching".

Remember, THEY can do whatever they want, it's up to you to prove them wrong (so gay).

Um.. yea its illegal so what... practice as much as you can. Factory lots are really good too. If on the road, be somewhere people rarely drive. Have fun.

dont do that

The toughest part is shifting in to first when backing up without grinding the gears. Once you get it though, it's easy. You just need to make the wheels spin instead of putting stress on the tranny. Just takes time to master.
dont shift into first while in reverse thats VERY bad for you tranny.

to do a 180 in reverse just floor it in reverse and make sure theres nuthin your gonna hit. then let off the gass as you turn the wheel one way all the way to lock and the front will start sliding around when your about at a 90* angle start straightining the wheel out as you shift yo a forward gear and power you *** end out of it........simple i have done it many times in many cars.
the key is to do it as smooth as possible so you dont loose control.

i havent been caught in a parking lot, (which i dont do that often) but....one time at a four way stop, i accelerated and the back end flipped out, i then gave it more gas and i was sideways around the corner, little did i know that there was an unmarked trooper at the right of the stop sign, he flashed his lights i pulled over, with my luck, he just commented me and how what an amazing drift that was, and he just let me go with a verbal warning, he also had it on tape!!! (too bad i never recieved a copy though)

You just gotta take your chances. Don't stay in one place for too long.
