all the labor stuff sounds good and so do the parts... except ive never heard of supertech lol. You could save some money and just use oem bearings too. personally, i would reasemble the motor myself, strictly for the experience and becasue ive always wanted to do a engine build.
sorry i cant comment more on the prices, not fimiliar with those costs

i just don't trust myself to put it back together. at least this way if something breaks i have someone else to blame.

4.5k? Why not just get a SR swap. Cheaper, reliable, comes boost ready, and opens the door for future stuff.

^ lol... some people....
anyways.. the prices on the parts sound about average... but the labor seems kinda high... but maybe they do really good work?
You should try pricing out all the parts online though, maybe you can get them cheapers, then take the parts to them... also, supertech makes nice, and good quailty stuff...
sounds like a beast you're going to be building.. with that kind of built engine, it should take 30psi easy.. yum..

i'm hoping for something nice but i'm lookin into buying a house so my project might have to take backseat....i also just got a speeding ticket tonight, the last thing the wife probably wants is for me to have a car that would go even faster.

now if i spun a bearing in my KA or whatever, i can pick another one up the next day for under 600 dollars
and be back on the road in a matter of hours. and i know cause i have done it 2 times already, but this KA i have now, man this ***** is nice and strong came with 72000 miles and it was auto, making the cams slightly more aggressive.
but thats just me.............

sr is way to over done. ka-t isn't as popular and i like the fact that it isn't just hey lets upgrade the turbo. and if i did go sr i would still rebuild the engine so all in all it's cheaper to go ka-t.

/\ i really wanna try to rebuild the engine myself. i've never done it b4 but i look forward to it this spring hopefully i might just slap on a turbo for now though

yo man. on KA-t theres a full full engien rebild i looked at it once, and i mean i know i can do it, i have done every thing on a car ( custom swaps, full body wiring, suspension, body work, etc) except rebuild a motor. the first one i do might not be performance, but to properly teach my self how to do it. ill probably just take a junk yard motor and do it. and also examine what is wrong with it if anything such as cracked or bent valves, cracked sleeve etc.

Engines are easy to build.
SO what add another 2-4k for other parts like turbo, intercooler, injectors, fuel management,.etc
Weak.
