custom "Y" shaped intake???
ok so a friend of my dad was telling me about how they used to run multiple tubing pipes from the multiple air filters to one tubing pipe to the carburetor. he said it gave more hp and throttle response to the engine. so my question is has anyone ever thought of combining a sri with the custom intake (battery relocation one) into a "y" shaped air intake, so then u would have 2 air filters, one on each side of the engine bay and 2 air intakes that came into 1 at or jsut before the throttle body???
any info and/or theories are appreciated

never heard of something like that... only way to prove it works would be to put it on a dyno...
you can have as many inlets as you want but the motor is not going to suck any harder than it can its still one TB

on those older cars was it the big circle air filter on top of the engine? if so then it would make sense thatd itd give them more power since its putting the inlet away from there hot engine, having multiple tubing prolly just allowed to have the same amount of air flow as the stock intake, just cooler..
at least thats what id think

Wouldnt help at all.
What your pop's friend is talking about sounds like bored out carburetors with all the additional stuff to get more air into the motor. That concept wont help you here since our technology is far from the carb'ed days.

thanks for all the input guys, i did'nt think it would add any more horsepower either personally because our cars are fuel injected and back then they were carb'd, but i thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to know what everyone else thought so thanks for all the input!
