the clutch I got was from south bend clutch. the disk is a kevlar composite material. I'm just going by the instructions for the break in period. From what I've read on these clutches people have experienced some slippage if not properly broken in anyways.

for reiteration, i'm going with a F1 pressure plate, a ACT unsprung 6 puck, and a Fidanza FW... should work out great, i loved the 6 puck that came with the car, till i found out it was on it's last leg...

i'll be breaking it in, mostly taking it easy for the first 100 or so miles, then, time for my next drift event...

i see, i have to quote you now because too often the case is that people just don't read the instructions provided. it is always best to follow the manufactures instructions and not use some generalized definition of a breaking period as i was referring to in my previous post.

i'd also like to add the breaking period not only consists of a recommended number of miles be driven but also a range of rpms that should not be exceeded during that time. not doing so can and usually will lead to glazing and cause the clutch to slip along potently damaging the flywheel because of the additional heat produced by the slipping.

it's not always the products that are prone to fail but rather tent to do so because of negligence on the part of the owner.

the biggest mistake made is when people put highway miles on the clutch... when on the highway once you are in 5th gear for the most part it stays there.... the clutch needs constant engagement and disengagement.

The pressure plate is the problem not the disk itself my friend bought one for his sc300 when he first bought the car it lasted about 3 months and when he replaced the whole set up the disc had like no wear on it but the pressure plate teeth seemed flimsy he switched to a spec clutch and now he has a 2jzgtte in it with a rps stage 3 clutch . This is just personal experience i have had or seen .jJust be careful man .You may not be happy in the end .

as long as it lasts me 3-4 months, i'm fine with it... it's just a cheapo setup anyways, and i wont be able to afford a nice one for the next 3-4 months... so i rock the cheap ****...

I have the ACT 6puc sprung clutch with a stock flywheel and it grabs awesome and doesn't slip at all. I'm curious to see how this set up works for you.

i'll post a review on this thread once my first 1k miles are up, and maybe a drift event or two.... see how this 6 puck grips, might grip enough to keep me on the bank.... we'll see...

lol trust me it will... besides improper installation....... the only thing that will make a clutch not grab is power...... lots of it.
