Clock Resetting

It is weird. On my 89 240SX, my digital clock usually stays on even if I turn off the engine & took out the keys but last night until now, everytime I took out the key, the clock shuts off. When I put the key in & turn on the engine, the clock is back on but it reset by itself all the time.

What do you think cause this problem guys? Thanks.

Check the interior lights fuse and check the audio fuse. If they are blown replace them and it should work. If not, check your radio wiring. I had really f-ed wires on my old 240 for the radio and once I fixed that and got all the fuses in it worked as it should.

PS: I don't know if the radio wires have anything to do with it as on my current 240 the clock works even w/o any radio (I saw that when I put mine in), but it's worth a try. I'd say minus a defect, 99% chance it's a fuse.

PSS: The clock WILL always be on, but not the backlight. The backlight will come on when you have the car on ACC or ON, but the actual clock will always be on. That's how you'll know if you've fixed it.

check all the connections and maybe fuses... i dont think so though... because your clock and radio run off the battery, if that fuse was blown that neither work - happened in my car.

Thanks guys for your replies. I figured it out. Definitely the fuse. I replaced the fuse & everything work now.

Glad to hear it. Fuses suck....but they're necessary....sounds like most things in life.
