Clicking noise?

I own a 1997 240SX SE. Every now and then whenever the car is idling, it makes this clicking noise. I can not figure out what it is and was wondering if anyone on here could help me?

Thanks,

Chris

This is the FAQ, it's for items that are asked very frequently, that the moderators move here to save people from searching. This will get more answers in the general forum, so I'll move you there!

it's in general forum where it should be. . . ?

Next time that happens, pop the hood and try to find where the clicking is coming from, that will help narrow down what it can be. Could be timing chain.

Is it more of a knocking sound? Might be related to the timing guide/chain like doc said

I popped the hood today, to see if i could get the general location of where the noise was coming from. Definitely coming from the lower half of the engine bay, but is originating from somewhere out of sight. I should probably get under it to get a better idea, this noise is really bothering me.

Timing chain guides might be bad. Or a bearing could be going square.
