bye bye RSX Type S

A few weeks ago I took my 240sx out of storage for it's mid winter round the block run. My car is stored for the winter but 3 times a winter I take it out for a round the block run for 10 minutes and a few weeks ago I had a little incounter with an Acura RSX Type S. I don't know why everyone thinks these cars are fast but they are not. They have no torque, the only power they have is when the v-tec kicks in when they reach about 4500 rpm's. I have driven many of them in my line of work and they are nothing special. Anyway to make a long story short I left him off the line and managed to get 3 car lengths ahead by the time I was in 3 rd gear. The rest of the race he stayed 3 car length behind me not being able to make up any ground on me or me on him. Just remember everyone when it comes to torque and 1/4 mile racing maximum cubic inches is your best friend.

rsx-s= 200hp to the crank and about 163-165hp to the wheels.
not that fast
but i don't think a ka engine will beat it.

You better have a sr or sumthin to back this story up. My friends rsx type s runs 14.8's all day and thats only with intake and springs. Some cars are just faster and we all have to admit it.

i never said they couldn't run mid-high 14's ( i know they can)
i said they're not "that" fast and that a ka24 CAN'T beat it.
by the way, i know kuz i used to own a celica gt-s and they're capable of running high 14's stock w/ a good driver. they can run w/ rsx-s kuz the rsx is heavier(stock vs stock).

ummm...i'm not too sure about this story. My cousin has a RSX-Type S and ran it bone stock for 15.1 quarter mile. THen he put intake, exhaust, headers, HONDATA, ecu chip and weight reductions and now he's running 14.2. I don't think that a 155hp KA24det will beat it. So hopefully, Toronto, you have a SR with mods or a RB.

RSX

Hey hey I didn't say I killed the RSX all I said is that I beat one in a short race that lasted just less then a 1/4 mile. it was from one light to another. I got him off the start and got a good lead and heald on to it. It's not hard to get Honda's off the start, they have low torque. The only power Hondas have is when the V-tec kicks in at about 4500rpm's. If you have a 240sx by that time you are pulling away in 2nd gear.If we had to race any longer I know I would of lost, I got lots of work done to my KA so helped out in that race.
Im not saying my car is faster then an SR20, but I know my car pulls off the line a little quicker then an SR20 due to more torque and that's why Im not shure if I should get the SR20 dropped in or Turbo the KA. I don't want to lose the torque that the KA provides. I know the SR20 is faster but I think a turbo KA could be just as fast or even faster if the right work is done and done right. There is a few guys out there with turbo KA's and they say they are great but I still don't know what I will do this spring. SR20 or Turbo KA What do you guys think?

TURBO KA or SR20 ???

Any sugestions?

Im just not a fan of aluminum blocks. Id rather have a nice strong iron block. KAs do have potential, but you have to put in more money in it then a SR.
