-Thanks for agreeing

-For $500 you can buy a shell with a popped motor. Spend the other $8000 on building a KA. Turbo. Slicks. Z32 tranny. And it would show your LS1 a grand Japanese ***-whooping.

I am not talking a popped motor shell though, I have an EXTREMELY clean S14 that is getting the conversion included in that price along with all my comforts of my current setup (AC, stock gauges, cruise control, ect)

As I stated for $4k you could have an 11second LSx powered car. I promise that with a 4-10k budget a LSx car will be faster than a KA. Dont forget N20 is cheap and a well built forged bottom end on a LS1 will take a 350 shot for more than one full season of drag racing.

I dont have anything against the KA or SR for that matter but if you want cheap power and reliability a SBC is the only way to go (maybe a 5.0 ford).

reliability was my #1 decision maker on the LS1 I will get far more miles than a similar HP KA/SR.

why would you spend 8 grand on a ka to beat a STOCK LS1??

just do the LS swap and call it a day...

hell, if i had the money i would rather have that swap

Clubredsilvia please dont talk about things you know nothing about.

A stock LS1 swap Might cost 5K yes it may be more than a stock SR swap which runs about 2500-3K but a stock LS1 has more power to start with.

My LS1 swap ran me about 7K but I bought a lot of aftermarket stuff and put down 400 whp with bad piston rings. 400 whp on an Nissan motor (reliable) would run you almost the same if not more and you wouldnt see the tq numbers I get. 300 ftlb @ 2500 rpms peaking at 378 ftlb @ 5500 rpms

That was my old motor. My new motor would have cost me the same price if I had experience and it will make 450+ whp NA. Not to mention it is built and will hold 250+ shot of nitrous all day.

Yes KAs/SRs/RBs can be fast and Ive built a fast RB and SR but it doesn't compare to the sheer power the Chevy SB puts out. You wouldn't know unless you've ridden in both.

So agian please dont compare the two since you dont know your facts.

Also a 8 grand build cost KA vrs SBC I think I could build a 1000hp LS1 for that price. And thats not a joke.

i agree here. i enjoy beating the v8's way to much to put one in my import even if i'm drag racing. just gives you more to run your mouth about when ppl laugh at you caz its an import and then when you kick that v8 *** it gives me more thrill and pleasure. but hey man if you want a ls1 in that car then DO IT. dont let noone change your mind....

p.s. i would spend 8k to beat a stock ls1 anyday... just my opinion so dont get mad.

I got a running one for $80.

Personally if I was making a drag car I would go KA-T and dream of an LSx
