450whp on 93 octane AMS KA24DET

Whats up guys? We are about to become vendors on the site, and I thought I would introduce us with some of the newest dyno sheets that I have.

Had my car on the dyno a little bit this weekend. Managed to squeeze some good numbers out of it.

All of these runs were done on about 20-21 psi of boost and 93 octane straight from the pump.

We are still doing some more testing to see If we can squeeze some more hp out of the car. These are just some results that I am proud of at the moment.

Whoever says that torque is what makes your car fast, hasn't driven a car with horsepower.

I should be able to release some more details about the setup soon.

No problem.

The clutch is a competition clutch iron man. I am suprised it is doing so well. I would have expected it to hold 400whp, but this is great . It, like the rest of the parts is listed on the website in my sig.

AMS KA24DET Crate Motor
-o-ring block
-11mm head studs
-calico bearings
-sportsman rods
-Arias pistons
-shimmed oil pump for higher pressure
-other new OEM stuffs

AMS KA24DET Turbo kit with GT33 turbo and 44mm Tial WG
AMS 240sx (ka and sr) Fuel system w/ 75lb injectors, fuel lab regulator and a walbro
Crower Stage 3 cams
Stock ignition
Prototype AMS intake manifold
AEM EMS

I think thats the major stuff. Let me know if there is anything else you need specs on.

if not when can i expect to get my greedy little hands on one?

#'s look great, any reason as why you chose a ka over an sr? just to make more parts for the ka?

Thanks for the info Chris. Set-up sounds righteous. Can you post a few snaps of the car and the goodies if you can? Cheers

I would totally take the 383 curve over the others. It has way more mid power and its so much smoother. It would be awesome on a DD.

Having driven all the setups, I can tell you that it was not the most fun to drive.

The power comes on quick and hard. and the rest of the power band is a disappointment as the car is consistanty falling more and more on its face due to flow restrictions. The torque curve was deplorable and dropped over 150ft lbs by red line.

We do not currently make any manifolds for the sr20. We may be building a race version 240 with an sr20 soon. You guys will be one of the first to know about it.

I like the ka because of the displacement. Also, Ivan talked me into it , and I'm glad he did.

We do make a top feed fuel system for the sr20 that is better than anything else on the market. Check out turbo240.com for more details.

Why are the curves so different? Did you just up the boost for each run or did you change more than just the boost?

The manifold is in testing and will not be available for a little while.

I won't be at too many events with my car. Normally if there is an even near by I will be at it supporting the shop cars. Hopefully I can make it out to GLD a couple times this year

The first graph I posted illustrates these differences.

lowest hp, stock manifold, stock cams
middle hp, manifold only
highest hp, manifold and s3 cams

You can see that the middle to highest hp run has no losses in the mid range torque. The only thing the cams did was give me more hp which was much appreciated .

When used in conjunction with the stock manifold, losses have been recorded for torque, and gains have been large in the higher rpms.
