The KA24E is a SOHC and the KA24DE is a DOHC.. I believe the only difference is like that there is like 15 hp more in the DOHC. I think (don't quote me) that the 91-94 had the DOHC but I'm not sure..

Actually, there is no difference; you see they both require the use of the SEARCH button to find out information about them.

No, but seriously...

KA24DE, the D is for Dual Cam, meaning it has an intake and exhaust cam as opposed to one.

there's a plate on your firewall that indicates which engine you have.

Either KA24DE or KA24E.

I, on the other hand, have a SR20.

i got rid of power steering and i took out all the emissions equipment.

the AIV box was part of emissions. there is a egr tube that runs from the headers to that black box and then another tube that runs into ur intake. I scraped it. also the powersteering resivor was taken off. if u want powersteering and if u care for emissions or dont have someone to pass u, u have to keep those things. thats pretty much it

i noticed more tq from the bottom end from the new motor THe KA24e was pretty tqy itself, also with the hp i freed up by taking of some emissions things, ac and powersteering, i can beat other 240,s with KAs in them.

ALso i dont drag much as i use to, but im going to the track to see what time i put down, when i get to the end of the track im going to drift into the ticket pickup line lol.

*ka24e( 140hp 152 tq)
**Ka24de (155 hp 160 tq
tq also means more burnt gas

BigVinnie will give u a more technical answer, i could have but im in a rush to get to the junk yard

I've wondered if many people do that! Won't the track people get pissed at you?
