200sx turbo?!?

so i was at wal-mart yesterday and i saw a old, tight looking nissan. i had no idea what it was so i walked around to the back and it said 200sx turbo. can anyone give me details on this car? it didn't look anything like the 200sx's that i've seen (sentra-ish).

VG30E
Horsepower: 160hp @ 5600rpm
Torque: 168lb/ft @ 3600rpm
Redline: 6000rpm

CA20E
Horsepower: 102hp @ 5200rpm

FJ motors were never offered in the US .

You would rather have an S13 or S14. The rear suspension of the 240 is much more refined than the S12's. Also, parts are just not available for the S12. Stock replacements can be found, but upgrading anything takes a lot of research and often leads to dead-ends (parts that re no longer available).

I'm not trying to take anything away from the S12. I owned three of them and loved them. Actually, one was just a parts car, but I loved it anyway.

Sorry, when I said solid axle I meant that it was a non-independent rear end. It still has a differential in the middle. I believe the differential is an H190 190mm unit. The n/a IRS cars got the R180 180mm and the V6 and turbo got the R200. I may be wrong on any of those, but that's how I remember it. Feel free to correct me.

I saw one of these the other day too and was thinking hmm "I wonder." well then I find out a friend of mine is selling one , it runs and everything, a little rough but still looks ok, but he wants a grand for it, so I figured I might just hold out for a 240SX shell. what do ya think?

The grand total purchase price for the 3 S12's in the above picture was $800. The silver one was a complete, running car when I bought it (with a slipping automatic transmission).

I'd pass on it at that price.
