best way to seal hatch rust holes? - (spoiler rust hole rain leak)
well of course i have the hatch rust and i popped my spoiler off to try and seal it up so no water gets in as a temporary solution until i get to a junkyard. i have silicone but im wondering what i should use to seal up these holes? take note the holes come over the edge of the spoiler making it a bit more difficult. any thoughts are appreciated. thanks guys.

well i feel quite privileged to have one of the worst. it just kept getting bad over time so i took the spoiler off. im more concerned about something temp to stop the water till i swap the hatch. a while ago the guy at some body shop quoted me 500 to fix it up. i think he was sure i was going to pay it. i've never welded anything before so that seems beyond the temporary aspect of it. unless of course you guys can make it sound easy enough to make it look like its done right, but considering its over the edge and all it seems like a challenge.

Glad press and seal, or black trash bags and duct tape, or maybe thin sheet metal and JB Weld. No point in working too hard or wasting money on it if you are going to replace the hatch. And with that much cancer I think thats the only way you should go.

I agree with ry, I'd go the trash bag method until you can get a new hatch. Since your car's white, just get some white trash bags. I think they make white tape/duct tape that you can get as well.
Good luck

personly..i'd just fix it like i did mine..if you can't weld..find a buddy that can..we had mine fixed in about 3 hours..and thats giveing the primer time to dry
its not that hard..the hardest part is making the edges....and think, then you don't have to spend the money to buy a new hatch
just think about it

Drill holes all around the cancer, and use the zip ties to stitch the trash bags down?
But honestly typeX, look at that hatch. Its an abbomination. Your best bet would be to start fresh with a new hatch. A new hatch is like 40 bucks.

thanks for the input. i think i'll just garbage bag it up till i get a new hatch. when i do that...what do i do with my tinted glass? can i swap that easily enough or is it easier to just get the new glass tinted?
