What swap is better overall? Like what has more specs? And what RB engine is the best?

LIKE

Theres been many questions like this...but i dont mind to answer. I like the rb series more then the sr because its a six banger instead of a four banger also there has been testing and the rb series can hold more hp for a longer time than the sr. Now the SR is much better than the RB because its A LOT easier to get parts and to get a hold of the engine. The best RB there is in my opinon is the RB25DET, u can go for the RB26DETT but IMO it just seems like a waste of money...with the money u save u can kill a stock RB26. THE END

I prefer the SR for handling. Plus it can make as much power as I'll ever need.

i cant really say anything on the handling cus i still have yet to do my RB swap and my friend is getting done with his SR swap so ill handle both to see how it is. But from wut i have heard, after u do a battery relocation to the rear and use custom engine/tranny mounts to sit lower and closer to the firewall, the handling is just like a stock S13. There shouldnt be any major differnce, but i will tell u guys with experince in a few weeks...matters when i get my car

Yeah, but there's no way around putting a heavier engine in to effect handling. So what if it CAN handle like stock after a few mods? I want it better than stock.

This is a debate I've been having for some weeks now before I start my project. On one hand the SR is great because it allows plenty of power without the cost of increased weight. SR swaps are generally less expensive and easier to come by. It also helps that the Silvia uses the SR, which lends credibility to the argument that it is the better engine for the Silvia/240 chassis.

On the other hand, the RB25 and RB26 not only start off with more power, but the ceiling is much higher as well. The weight might be somewhat of an issue depending on what the car is used for (drag or "other").

I guess my dilemma is that I don't know what I want now because I haven't ridden in a SR or RB-powered 240. I would like to try both in hopes that it would bring me closer to a decision (anyone in the SE region own either of these???). I would like to drag the car, but I wouldn't want the RB25 or RB26 if it would adversely affect handling in tight corners. Ultimately handling is more important though, especially considering I would like to try drifting sometime. And how much power would I really need in a 240 that I plan to gut?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, be it advice or real-world experience. I must say that I would prefer the latter, truth be known.

I like the SR20DET better but what is even better then the SR and the RB is the KA-T

The reason I like the KA-T better is because it is the best way to go because more power, more torque, less maintence then the RB.

Look at the pic does anyone remember this article in Sport Compact Car Magazine this is my main reason for the KA-T

Untrue rumors... I've NEVER seen a KA make more power than a SR and as for the RB, it would be more reliable at a given hp than a KA.....

What is the most powerful SR motor hp wise you are talking about. I also stated that a RB is more high maintence then the KA or the SR didn't say the KA can boost more hp then the KA. I was talking about the KA is capable of more HP then the SR.

Here is a 475 HP KA-T pic

i remeber that article...i think he blew up like 4 engines before gettin one that didnt go. it was 400 hp. but with all that work and the 4 engines u would have over that with an rb easy.
