Swap is complete....LS6 V8 240sx

No its a LS6, I checked the numbers on it. Its a LS6 Block, LS6 Intake, and The larger heads. The LS6 and LS1 are very alike. The LS6 has no EGR, a slightly larger intake, heads, and cam. And the block is the same, with one mod to the ports to lower pressure some. I bought it from the owner of a rear end hit TransAm. I went there with the intention of getting an LS1, but After checking the numbers and reading something in a book. The late 2002 Fbodies got the LS6.
I wanted a LS2, but it was way too much for 20 horse more

LS6 can also refer to a 454 in³ Chevrolet Big-Block engine of the 1970s
The LS6 is a higher-output version of Chevrolet's small-block LS1 engine. It is an all-aluminum 5.7 L (346 in³) pushrod engine. The initial 2001 LS6 produced 385 hp (287 kW) and 385 ft·lbf (522 N·m), but the engine was modified for 2002 through 2004 to produce 405 hp (302 kW) and 400 ft·lbf (542 N·m) of torque. The LS6 was originally only used in the high-performance C5 Corvette Z06 model, with the Cadillac CTS V-Series getting the 405 hp engine later. The V-Series used the LS6 for two years; it was replaced with the LS2 in 2006. For 2006, the Z06 replaced the LS6 with the new 7.0L LS7.
The LS6 shares its basic block design with the GM LS1 engine, but other changes were made such as windows cast into the block between cylinders. An improved intake manifold, higher-lift cam, and higher compression ratio boost output compared to the LS1, and a new oiling system is better suited to high lateral acceleration.
The casting number, located on the top rear edge of the block, is 1256XXXX.
So unless your casting number is the one above, you didnt get an LS6. Also, the LS6 was only used in the Z06 Corvette. Maro's and Firebirds got a variant of the LS1 that produced 320 hp for their Formula Spec models.
The Firebirds were discontinued around 2000, and the real maro SS used the LS6, but it was in its last year and a half of production.
Not hating or anything, I love the swap, but I've never heard of an LS6 used in any other cars other than the Z06 Vette and the Last year model Maro SS.
And I still cant believe someone would sell a motor like that for so cheap. Guys who buy these muscle cars know their sh*t. They know their car down to the tee, literally.

... LT1 is really cheap here, 2500 you can get an LS1, sometimes I see deals where I can get the LS1 w/ T56 tranny from an F-Body for about 3500, but its getting rare now, dunno why.
But yeah, LS1 price is about 2500 here.

Its a rare find LS6 of that year, a good find. But those LT1s I dunno not a huge fan, you can build a LS motor with better results. Heres the first test video. Rear needs swap still.

nice job on the swap. like mentioned, doesn't sound like you got an ls6 though. i can see how some confusion could occur. the 01 and 02 ls1's in the camaro and trans am did remove the egr and get the ls6 intake mani. once again, congrats. i finished my swap back in dec and love it.
hey, i was looking at the fuel filter, is that a 300z filter?
