Exclamation Swap is almost done...got a question though

Recently I took the car to get the RB20DET swap. The guys doing the swap told me that after it is all said and done the tach won't work properly. Now, I have spent around an hour and a half looking and searching other threads on how to install these but I am getting many different statements like, it wires into the stock cluster, then I see it wires into the ECU, then I see that the tach I buy comes with directions. For the cause of not wanting to buy a product and it not be vehicle specific with wiring diagrams on the instructions ( got to admit I just like to look at the pictures!! ) I was curious if anybody who has done this could tell me where I can get info for installing an aftermarket tachometer. I know it sounds stupid, but really and truely I am tired of looking at this screen right now and it's getting late. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike we can get you one from LSAuto they drop right in, but they run around $180 IIRC, they will show the 6cyl rpms correctly.

Get an R32 gauge cluster and install the tach from it, into the 240sx cluster, it just bolts in, you have to poke a hole for the clock **** to go through, right at the 9K rpm mark, then it reads just fine.

Thanks for the input guys. Eric, I bought a gauge that'll read out for 6 cyl. and I got a pod that'll sit in the center a/c area. I can put it all together if you can tell me where the wires go. I am also going to look into the R32 gauge that Nismo241 explained, does that take some times to install nismo? Thanks again, open to more input.
