Stock block/head power limits?
Hey,
I'm new to the SR20 world and i've been looking around to see if i could gauge the limits of the factory SR20DET block and head for an s14 black top.
given the propper aftermarket equipment - turbo, intercooler, injectors, fuel pump, engine management, etc. what can i squeeze out of the factory SR20DET before the bottom end gives out, the factory head gasket pukes, or the head begins to show signs of inneficient port flow.
to recap, what appears to be the power production limit of the factory bottom end, factory head gasket and factory head (ports, cams, valves/springs)?
thanks
Ray

From what I've been hearing, around 400 horsepower seems to be the general consensus. However, simple sense would tell you that you're likely to have some reliability issues with ANY car when approaching double its stock horsepower.
