SR20DET = SR20DE + Turbo ?
Just out of curiousity. I have a 1993 Nissan 240SX 2-Door Coupe. Just got it and want to go the SR20DET route. If I go ahead and get the SR20DET off from Japan and plan on changing all of the internals for maximum boost capability + an aftermarket turbocharger, would it be the same thing as getting a USDM Nissan Sentra SR20DE and changing all of the internals, once again for maximum boost capability, and adding an aftermarket turbo charger.
Basically ...
Option 01 : Buy JDM SR20DET, rebuild motor, build internals, and replace turbo with aftermarket (not upgrade) turbo
Option 02 : But USDM SR20DE, rebuild motor, build internals (same parts as option 01), add aftermarket turbo (same turbo)
In the end, will these be identical engines or very similar? Or maybe not even close?

Actually the Bluebird or Pulsar SR will drop in an Altima or Sentra/200sx/NX with a FWD SR's tranny. An AWD swap is possible too, but more complicated, I've seen an Altima converted to a Bluebird SSS Attessa on some Australian site.....

Nope, not possible, sorry. A RWD SR20 tranny won't bolt up, the distributor will hit the firewall, and it just won't work in general.
The problem with getting an SR20DE is the fact that it will be as much, if not possibly more than an SR20DET for the simple fact that the DET is more popular.

I know which one you're talking about. There was one guy on the altimas.net forums that did the conversion too. He was greatly criticized because after all of the money that he put into somehow making his altima 4WD, all he has now is a stock car. for ALL that money. IMO, i think it's worth it because a big change such as FF to 4WD can make your car a lot better of a base to use for modding (plus it's an SSS) heheh. Yea, I was thinking about doing that to my Altima, but I love my 240 way better. RWD beats FWD any day in my opinion. But that's only because I love to drift. RWD drifting is a LOT more fun. hehhe, IMO.

Just curious why you would go through the trouble of rebuilding the SR. Are you planning on going over 400hp straight out of the box? If not, that sounds like a major waste of money and time to dis-assemble a running low-mileage motor.

Well then why are you here looking for a nickel and dime solution for a starting point. Order an SR20DET. You need the transmission anyway.
With those planned power levels you are definitely better off starting out with an RB25.
