Question SR20DE(T) swap possible on a 240s?

Now give me a straight answer here.

Is throwing in a SR20 into a 240Sx just as impracticle as doing it on an Altima?

Would it be tougher/easier than an Altima?

umm..no way. an SR20DET is a direct drop in with slight modifications.
older 240SX(S13) 91-94 will swap in a SR rather then going turbo. some may argue this, but a lot of people have/are doing it.
plus, you can get a SR20DET front clip for about $2500-3000

actually 240 owners (89-98) will swap in a SR20DET from a silvia in Japan in order to go Turbo, rather that turboing a KA24DE engine. This might be what you were trying to say but it needed further clarification.
An SR can mean an FWD SR20DE, a FWD SR20DET (bluebird), a RWD SR20DET (Silvia), a RWD SR20DE (NA silvia), or even the newer SR20VE.

There has only been rumors that a sr20 swap was done on an Altima, nobody has actually seen it. It's one of those fantasies that altima owners dream of.

Yea the FWD SR20DET from the Nissan Bluebird. Not an impossible swap, pretty sure the bluebird is the jp equivalnt to an altima, just make sure if ordering the engine you get the FWD version and not the AWD version

Oh and im not sure an sr16ve exsists, the SR in a nissan engine code is the block idenfication code much like the vg and rb and ca and so on. a 1.6 (the next two numbers in the code) stand for the liters so basicly to have a sr16ve the block would almost have to shrink.

There's a lot more that goes into the SR swap into U.S. U13 FWD Altimas. It's not as easy as some may think..

There's more than just SR20's..
http://www.freshalloy.com/cars/nissan/super_matrix.html

There were SR18Di's in R10's, P10's, U12's, SR18DE's in R11's, P10's, N14's, N15's U13's, and U14's, SR16VE's in N15's (Pulsars).

OK, so it's pretty much a direct bolt on for the 240sx.

Hey AltimaVixen, I have a great idea for your next project car after the Altima

cool, im mainly familiar with the sr20det swap for the 240sx/silvia. altimas are new to me, and i will probably never have much interest in them seeing as how i despise FWD cars. ( no offense intended to any altima owners)

As for the engine size question, shesh they use enough variations of it, it really should have been easer for me to find parts for my SR20DET when i rebuilt it.

None taken, at least by me. I know a lot of the 1st and 2nd gen owners actually want S13's or S14(a)'s..
