john, what did u use to get the engine in in your install, did you
A: Hoist the engine and tranny together and slip them in at an angle with the car on jack stands or something.
B: Hoist the engine and put it in place then put the tranny up from underneath. while the car is on jack stands and what not of course.
or C: Raise the car some how and lower the car on the engine and what not.
or one of the other possabilities. I need an easy way to do it w/o a lift, dont have one or access to one, can rent or possibly borrow a hoist.
Thx

I think the easiest way is to raise the motor in. I dropped the motor and then lifted the trans. The only problem is getting it all to clear the trans tunnel.
If I was to do it again, I would assemble them on the ground and install them from below as a unit. I think it would be much easier.
The other way(the third time I installed the motor) I had the head off. Loosen up the motor mounts and the motor will rotate back into the trans tunnel and you can connect the transmission that way with easy access to all the bolts. I think the easist is to raise the assembly into the engine bay.
Thanks!

alright, but now i need to devise a plan to do that, i dont have a lift or anything and i dont think that jack stands will be high enough to get the motor under it.
maby i can use a engine hoise and raise the front of the car or something, think it will take the weight? who knows, i might just have to do it the hard way.
any ideas?
