any of the rb motors fit in the silvia. including the gtr motor with the twin turbos. there is a 180sx or 240sx as you guys call them here in melbourne, with a gtr motor in it. At the autosalon, and it had two t88 turbos on it. thing spooled up at around 5000 rpm. 500 kw at the wheels. pretty much a show car. no chance of driving it on the street. wheel spin in all gears.

but for a gtr motor to fit u have to change the sump, but its basically the same sort of conversion as any other rb motor. except just the awd to rwd, and the extra turbo, which means extra dump pipe.

You forget the steering rack of the 240sx is in the way of the twin turbo set up of an RB26DETT. So you also need to do a single turbo conversion. Not worth it in my opinion.

People said that the rb25det couldn't be put in, and what was the result.

i know it has been done before, otherwise they'd just put rb25 in.
but i seen a rb26 in a s13. twin turbs too.

Wouldnt the AWD be a problem if you were swapping to the Rear wheel drive 240sx

RB25's are RWD and their trannies bolt on to RB26's so there's no real issue.

This is totally the swap I wanna do , but alas I am no mechanic. So I would need it done for me. Would it be possible for most performance shops to put it in ?

Night I sent you off and e-mail. So hopefully you get to it.

Just wanted to see what others had to say maybe. But it is looking like you are the only one on the forums to have done this yet. Would you be interested in maybe putting another one together ? Like as in I bring the car to you and help you drop it in ? Also pay you what is reasonable for your time and expertise.

If I dont go the RB25 route , what SR20 would be the best to drop into a 92 - 94 240SX SE ?

I'd be more than happy to do the swap. I am not sure if I got your email - check your email to see if I responded lol. I just wrote out about 30 of em. I charge $1250 for my labor in these swaps. I also have my clips on sale right now too.

You don't have to be a mechanic to do this swap. If you'd prefer to do it yourself, I offer tech support over the phone. It isn't too difficult, I am sure you could pull it off as long as you have a decent set of tools.

Good to know you are willing to do the swap. Washington is also not to far away from where I am. So now it's a matter of putting together the funds and getting the car. I have a few I am looking at right now. Not to concerned about the overall condition of the car. Since I just need a soild chasis and body. Engine don't matter if I am going to swap it I guess.

I will keep in touch with you over the next little while. I am very interested in this swap , whether I do it myself or have you do it. I will still buy the clip from you. Your prices seem MUCH better then most the others I have looked at. Some as high as 6000 U.S for just the engine and not the clip.

Thanks again

So if you were to do the swap and pull out the KA24DE you've got this extra motor lying around. So two questions, how much money could you get selling a KA24DE on ebay etc? Also seeing as how I'm quite sure this swap is illegal (at least here in CA) if you get caught with it would you have to put the original engine back in to get rid of the ticket?

Why would it be Illegal ? I know plenty of crazy swaps that are running around up here.

I could prolly understand being illegal in CA , they have strict emissions policies. But if you abide by them you can prolly still do the swap.

Maybe Night can fill us in on this. Also good question how much is the stock engine worth , could make up some of the cost for the swap right there.
