If you have all the necessary parts for the swap, how much would it generally cost for an auto place to install the rb26det?

2K -$2500 but most of the places I have seen do it cheap like that are hacks, and they insist that you buy their motor which they markup the price like crazzy! Also the parts you think you need is prob not as big of a list as the parts you will actually need. you always forget something.

no, not for the s13 motors, they are the same other than the blacktop's are slightly newer. But if you get the s14 or s15 motor then yes, they are different. As for the power, bottom end is good, but u are probably gona want springs, retainers, and some rocker arm stoppers. Also a metal headgasket.

quite a few, this motor will probably handle that just fine if your tune is right.

Nice, so over 90k miles id say? seems alot more reliable then the 350z motors. I want to get around 450-500 im sure the sr can do it but the rb25 would be more reliable im guessing

6 cylinders means each piston has to do less work to get there, 450/4 cyl = 112.5 each, 450/6 cyl = 75 each....alot easier to digest.
